The first Sunday in February is the Super Bowl...
Are you ready for some football?
With four sheets of copy paper and 18 inches of masking tape, can your students design the tallest goalpost that will stand tall and not fall?
This is a great time to introduce the terms parallel and perpendicular!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Whether it's the Year of the Pig, Dog, or Monkey, the Dragon is a prominant part of every Chinese New Year celebration. In this challenge, your students will have to create their own dragon using large red cups.
The key is to decide how many cups are needed for support and how far apart the cups can be spaced without compromising the dragon's stability.
Don't Go Breaking My (candy)Heart!
In this Valentine's Day challenge, your students need to make sure their hearts stay in one piece!
Using a variety of everyday materials, have students create a protective design so that a lollipop heart can be tossed high into the air and plunge back to the ground without a single crack.

In this case, "sweet success"
is guaranteed!
President's Day is a great time to honor our founding fathers. And what better way to honor our first president than by building a new monument? Using just paper and tape, have student create a presidential pillar so that Washington's portrait (a quarter) can balance on top.
HAIL TO THE CHIEF
